Better World Books employees come together to give back to those in need
As an organization, Better World Books is striving every day to set ourselves apart not only through our service to our passionate customers, but also through our social mission, which is central to every decision we make. This isn’t just some lofty, feel-good tagline to us — it’s a genuine, on-the-ground philosophy our employees embrace daily. We’re always happy to show that we take this commitment seriously, particularly when it comes to our local community in Michiana.
We recently had the fantastic opportunity to aid The Food Bank of Northern Indiana with our Winter Food Drive. Better World Books employees came together and collected more than 600 food items for donation!
While no donation ever feels big enough, we were happy to contribute what we could to this wonderful organization’s cause. The Food Bank of Northern Indiana serves six northern Indiana counties (Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall, Starke and St. Joseph) and has a network of more than 170 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, senior centers and day cares. They’re a member of Feeding America, a network of over 200 food banks across the country. They work very quickly to move donated goods into the hands of needy individuals, often in less than two days from the time of donation!
