When the most intense storm of the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season hit New Jersey and New York, Better World Books reached out to our library partners to rally the troops and offer aid to area libraries needing to recuperate, renovate, and rebuild. Over 200 of our library partners opted in between December 2012 to January 31st to support NYLA and NJLA after Hurricane Sandy by redirecting a portion of their funds (raised from the sale of their discards during this timeframe) to the libraries that suffered the brunt of the damage.)

With Better World Books matching our partners’ donations dollar-for-dollar (up to $5,000), that comes to over $10,000. These funds have been distributed to NJLA and NYLA to support libraries impacted by the hurricane.
