On October 22, 2016, Better World Books opened up it’s Mishawaka, IN distribution center for our second annual Book or Boo, a free community event. Book or Boo offered families a safe environment for a little Halloween fun. The event included trunk or treat style trick or treating, warehouse tours, a bounce house, classic cars and more. In addition to warehouse tours and trunk or treating, the Better World Books book bus, Wordsworth, was there to give away free books to attendees.
Better World Books also invited organizations from the community to join in providing a free day of fun to area families. Local classic car owners brought their vehicles for display. A pirate ship even came to infuse some high seas fun into the event. Upon arriving children were greeted by Queen Eleanor who graced everyone with her royal presence. Throughout the day, several musician performed include the Music Village Ukulele players and an Irish folk singer. The tooth fairy was even in attendance to help promote proper dental hygiene, an important lesson to learn during a holiday that feature so much candy. Paws with a Cause brought some canine fun to the event and raise awareness about assistance dogs. Other organizations such as the 4H, the fire department, Healthworks, the Mishawaka Education Foundation and more came out to make this an incredible event for everyone who attended the event.
Better World Books thanks all of the organizations and volunteers who made this event possible. Next year’s Book or Boo will be held October 14, 2017 from noon to 3 p.m. at our Mishawaka Distribution center. Watch our Facebook page for details closer to that event.
