Meet Donna Andrews, the Better World Books resident Donations Specialist in Mishawaka, Indiana. She joined the company in June of 2018 after nearly 20 years working in education! Donna first heard about Better World from a friend who raved about the mission of Better World Books. She was looking for a way to make a difference in the world and knew it would be a perfect fit.
As a Donations Specialist, Donna’s role is core to Better World Books. She makes sure that every book that can find a home gets a home. Any item that is not posted for sale is sorted, categorized and donated to a literacy initiative around the world. Donna’s experience and knowledge from working in education are invaluable both to her team at Better World Books and to connect with local organizations for donation opportunities. She brings a unique twist on how to get books into the hands of who needs them the most.
Better World Books’ mission and literacy initiative are where Donna’s passion lies. As a former educator, parent and mentor she is able to understand how critical a role that a book is in anyone’s life. She firmly believes in giving back and sharing literacy with those in need.
Donna firmly believes in giving back and sharing literacy with those in need. Her most rewarding moments come when she sees a child’s eye light up when they receive their first ever book; to keep forever. This is why Donna hits the road in our book bus, Wordsworth, and travels the local communities spreading the power of reading. Donna is so happy to have Better World Books; a place where the rewards of her natural caring, giving and love for books can have an overwhelming impact.
